The Aiken County Virtual Academy's Keyboarding and Computer Applications course will open Monday, June 13th at 9:00 a.m.  Students should log into their VirtualSC account, click Moodle and begin their course.  We have several students who are on a waiting list who will be scheduled if any available seats open up.

Silver Bluff High School Senior Portrait days are June 27 - 28.  Seniors will receive a postcard in the mail from Prestige of their session time. July 27 is the make-up date.

Grade Promotion Requirements: 10th Grade: 5 credits to include 1 English & 1 math, 11th Grade: 11 credits to include 2 English, 2 math & 1 science, 12th Grade: 17 credits to include 3 English, 3 math & 2 sciences.

To be eligible for credit recovery the final grade in the failed class must be 60-69. The failed grade changes to 70 when successful. Available for core classes only. Credit recovery may be attempted one time per course. Credit recovery for seniors can be approved May 31, grades 9-11 can be approved June 6. The NCAA will not accept credit recovery.

Silver Bluff High School is participating in a Summer Feeding Program from June 6 – July 28, 7:00am to 1:00pm (closed Fridays & July 4th week). Anyone 18 years old and under may eat for free.

Silver Bluff High School: Offered if sufficient enrollment. Students provide own transportation & may bring own food.

Students May Not Leave Campus for Lunch.

Registration: Thursday June 9, 8:00am. – 12:00pm.

Dates & Times: June 13-16, 20-23, 27-30. All day: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (30 minutes for lunch).

Fees: Cashier’s Check or Money Order payable to SBHS. Cash or Personal checks will not be accepted.

Initial & Repeat credits $250, half credits $150, Credit Recovery $150.00 per course.

Priority: Seniors then students repeating classes then initial attempts in a course.

Instruction: Classes are computer based using the APEX Learning digital curriculum.

Supervision: It is our intention to have a teacher certified in English & math to supervise at alternate times however

supervision by a certified teacher is not guaranteed.

Credit Recovery courses - Student is dismissed upon completion. NCAA will not accept credit recovery. Courses: English 1, 2, 3, 4, Fundamental Math, Algebra1 Part 2, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, World History, US History, US Government, Economics. Probability & Statistics or Pre-calculus not offered.

Initial & Repeat courses Attendance is required. NCAA may not accept these classes. Courses: English 1, 2, 3 & 4, Algebra 1 Parts 1 & 2, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, World History, US History, US Government ½ credit, Economics ½ credit, Spanish 1 & 2, Music Appreciation, Art Appreciation ½ credit, World Geography ½ credit, Psychology ½ credit, Sociology ½ credit.

Aiken Virtual Academy: Free. Registration: May 25 – June 9. Dates: June 13 - July 28, final exam at SBHS August 2, 9:00am. Offering: Keyboarding ½ credit, Computer Apps ½ credit, may take one or both. This is a home based program. Students may use a SBHS computer for a fee of $25 if space is available. Student creates an account at VirtualSC.org & requests ACVA Keyboarding/Computer Apps ONLY. Notify counselor as request expires after 72 hours.

Parents are strongly recommended to create a parent account to monitor progress

VirtualSC.org: Free. Registration; Grades 11 & 12 May 18-June 1, Grades 9-12 May 25-June 1. Credit Recovery registration closes June 10. Classes are June 8-July 29, final exam at SBHS August 2, 9:00am. Classes fill up before registration ends! NCAA will accept core initial/repeat courses only. Will not work on cell phones or tablets. Students create their own account then request a course through their account. Guidance must be notified of the request within 72 hours or the request will expire. Parents are strongly recommended to create a parent account to monitor progress.

Keystoneschoolonline.com 1-800-255-4937 Not accepted by the NCAA. Initial & Repeat courses: By mail-$349, online classes-$419. Minimum time to complete a class is 8 weeks. Credit Recovery: By mail, 4 to 8 weeks to complete a class -$149, online 1 semester, 4 to 8 weeks to complete -$149, online both semesters, 8 -16 weeks to complete -$249.

- Grades must be at SBHS directly from Keystone by August 8, 2016 if the class is a pre-requisite for another class.

- Algebra One Parts 1 or 2 online only, does not offer Probability & Statistics or Pre-calculus.

Diploma Completion (Aiken County Adult Education): Must have 17 credits to be eligible. All programs are free. www.aiken.k12.sc.us 803-663-4920. Byrd Learning Center, 1 Willis Circle, Graniteville. Registration is June 6 at Aiken High School. Classes meet Monday-Thursday 9am to 1pm. Requires 60 hours of seat or off campus computer time per credit. Diploma completion will also be offered in August. Also offering GED & WorkKeys, no credit recovery.
